Players on verge of breakouts

McDaniels, Kaminsky among most improved early in 2013-14 season

Entering the 2013-14 college basketball season, the names on most All-American lists included Marcus Smart, Doug McDermott, C.J Fair, Mitch McGary and Gary Harris. They also had Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, Julius Randle and Aaron Gordon -- a group of talented freshmen who have deservedly taken the spotlight.

But every season there are individuals who fly under the radar while being extremely valuable to the development of their teams. The five names below are players who have invested time in the offseason to improve and are on the verge of breakout seasons.


K.J. McDaniels, G, Clemson Tigers

Clemson is off to a fast start (7-1), and one of the biggest reasons why is McDaniels' development. He has always been an incredible athlete, but his skill level is now starting to emerge. That could be major trouble for opponents.
