- According to multiple sources, 6-foot-4 shooting guard Nkereuwem Okoro ended his recruitment late Sunday when he verbally committed to Iowa State.
Okoro chose the Cyclones over St. John's, Rutgers, Arizona and Pittsburgh, among others.
"Okoro is one of those guys who is successful because of how hard he plays," according to ESPN Recruiting Coordinator Adam Finkelstein. "He has a great motor on both ends of the floor, can score the ball attacking the basket, and is a terrific on-the-ball defender.
"He needs to continue to develop his ball skills but is likely to carve out a niche for himself from day one at Iowa St."
Okoro is the second recruit in the 2012 class for head coach Fred Hoiberg and his staff, joining power forward Georges Niang who committed in May.
