- Alex Murphy makes it official for Duke
- The Duke athletic department announced on Thursday that Alex Murphy has signed his letter of intent with the Blue Devils.
Murphy committed Duke in February as a member of the Class of 2012 then in April decided to graduate enroll as a 2011 prospect.
He joins a class ranked No. 2 on ESPN.com and features SG Alex Carr and PF Michale Kyser in the Bulldogs incoming 2011 class.

- Big name college coaches, including Florida's Billy Donovan and Kentucky's John Calipari, were in Barrington, R.I. on Wednesday afternoon to watch St. Mark's and its Super 60 duo of Alex Murphy and Kaleb Tarczewski, according to EastBayRI.com.
Murphy scored 14 points and Tarczewski added 16 in the Lions 67-56 win. Nikolas Stauskas led all scorers with 20 for St. Mark's while Syracuse signee Michael Carter-Williams was held to 15 for St. Andrew's.

- Junior forward Alex Murphy and junior center Kaleb Tarzcewski both posted double-doubles as St. Mark's rolled by Lee (Maine) Academy 91-74 on Saturday night at the National Prep Showcase.
Murphy, ranked No. 6 in 2012, finished with 18 points and 17 rebounds while Tarzcewski led the way with 25 points and 10 boards.
