1. Duke welcomes back Capel
Mike Krzyzewski made a strong move last week by bringing in Jeff Capel, the former Oklahoma and VCU coach who wore No. 5 for the Blue Devils in the 1990s. Coach K now has three former players on his staff. Assistants Steve Wojciechowski and Chris Collins are routinely mentioned for head-coaching jobs; Wojciechowski was knee-deep into the Dayton job inquiries this offseason. Reasonable minds can agree that Capel, whose father is a former Division I head coach and whose brother is the current Appalachian State head coach, will get a head-coaching job again.
