1. Gill emerging for Ravenscroft
His father was a guard at East Carolina so basketball has its roots in the Gill family. On Wednsday night, Anton Gill (Raleigh, N.C./Ravenscroft), a sophomore, dropped 28 points for the Ravens as it upended Rodney Purvis and Upper Room Christian. Two days before falling to Ravenscroft, Purvis (committed to Louisville) went for 31 points as his club outlasted highlty-touted sophomore Chris Thomas (Denver, Colo./Princeton Day) who scored 30.
