Welcome to 2011, college hoops fans. The new Bracketology -- the first of weekly editions headed to March -- will be up on ESPN.com shortly. Here are some thoughts on today's edition.
Last year at this time there were just four undefeated Division I teams, making the process of identifying No. 1 seeds rather easy. This season we have seven unbeatens entering the first full week of January, although four have clearly set themselves above the rest. So it should be no surprise to see Duke, Ohio State, Kansas and Syracuse on the top line of this bracket.
• Kentucky joined Duke, Kansas and Syracuse as the actual No. 1 seeds in March 2010, leaving the possibility that we could have repeat top seeds across the board for the first time in tournament history. Kansas and Syracuse have done their part by going a combined 54-0 to start the past two seasons. Then again, a whopping four of those 54 victories came in "true" road games.
