• "Everyone will make a big deal about San Diego State's rebounding against Gonzaga, but they really do not have very good guards. Steven Gray is a heck of a player, but he is not a guard per se, and the guards they do have are just so-so," said a WCC coach that watched San Diego State beat Gonzaga.

• "Virginia Tech is still going to win a bunch of games, but if you can pressure [Malcolm] Delaney, he is not a great dribbler. They are grown men and solid when they run their sets, but when I watched the Kansas State game ... they got out of their stuff and just ran 'high ball screen,' which made them easy to cover," said an ACC assistant, who was scouting Virginia Tech's loss at Kansas State.
• "Do not pay attention to Minnesota struggling with Siena. Siena hit everything they threw for 25 minutes, then Minnesota woke up.
