Negedu's transfer to UNM brings it all back

My heart sank when I found out that former Tennessee basketball player Emmanuel Negedu was offered and accepted a scholarship to the University of New Mexico and has been cleared to play by its team doctors. I am happy he gets to continue his dream, but it brought back painful memories for me.
Negedu suffered a sudden cardiac arrest after a preseason workout last September, was revived with an on-site heart defibrillator, and subsequently had a sub-pectoral internal cardiac defibrillator implanted in his chest. After consulting with medical experts and reviewing Negedu's medical history, Tennessee officials decided last month to not clear him to play.
