Please, ACC fans, stop with the "ACC is the best conference since everybody is beating up on each other" e-mails. The Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-10 and SEC are all doing the exact same thing. Looking at a team's nonconference résumé and past 10 games is an appropriate way to measure an individual team, and frankly, the computers take away any of our inherent bias. In my honest opinion, this is going to be the most parity-filled month in the history of the college game, and while Boston College (which lost four straight after beating UNC) once looked dead in the water, Northwestern has never made the Big Dance and Utah lost to Southwest Baptist at home, they are all in the conversation to dance come March. That's how flawed all the potential at-large teams are at this point.
Wake Forest still has a ton of talent, but its inability to be more effective against a zone could be its undoing from this point forward. Credit Miami coach Frank Haith and his staff with shading Jeff Teague's side of the zone. The Canes kept the rest of the Deacs in front of them in Miami's 27-point win over Wake on Wednesday, exposing this young team's lack of movement when facing a different look defensively.
