Never too early for BracketBusters excitement

After a summer of budget-busting gas prices and thermometer-busting temperatures, it's good to know that the BracketBusters is just five months away.

The always cool weekend festival of mid-major college basketball, in its seventh annual incarnation, will be held Feb. 20-21. A total of 102 teams that will take part in the 2009 event have been preassigned to home or visiting roles, as announced Thursday. The 13 televised pairings will be announced on Feb. 2. The network (on ESPN, ESPNU or broadband service ESPN360.com) and the game times will be announced on Feb. 9.
