Cleveland State on closing mission

In January, Cleveland State jumped out to an early and surprising lead in the Horizon League regular-season race. Picked to finish ninth in the preseason coaches' poll, the Vikings won their first seven conference games on the strength of defensive-oriented guard play. CSU basically erected a firewall around the arc, emerging as the conference leaders in 3-point field goal defense and forced turnovers.

But fortunes turned sour in a hurry -- or rather, it became awfully foul in Cleveland.
