Ed Cooley and his staff have hit the ground running since taking over the program at Providence. The Friars went out west to land a commitment from Kiwi Gardner (Manteca, Calif./Westwind Prep) in the Class of 2011, but have also been working to increase their presence in the Northeast.

There may be no better example than PG Kris Dunn (New London, Conn./New London). The new Friars staff did their work early and had already offered Dunn a scholarship by the time he saw his stock explode during April's AAU circuit.

This past weekend, the Friars hosted two other local prep products in PF Zach Auguste (Marlborough, Mass./New Hampton) and PG Kareem Canty (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bridgton Academy). Auguste visited campus on Saturday with his mother, while Canty was in town later in the weekend.
