Boston College-bound power forward Ryan Anderson (Long Beach, Calif./L.B. Polytechnic) is in the midst of a big senior year and has continued to make the Eagles look good since then because he has brought his game to another level and proven himself to be one of the West Coast's most rapidly rising prospects in the 2011 class. Anderson took home three MVP awards in December, first at the Pacific Shores Tournament in Southern California and then at the National Prep Classic where he set himself apart from a loaded field that included the likes of Julius Randle (Dallas, Texas/Prestonwood Christian Academy), Michael Carter-Williams (Hamilton, Mass./St. Andrew's) and Angelo Chol (San Diego, Calif./Herbert Hoover).

It was more of the same last week as Anderson led Long Beach Poly to its third straight tournament title at the ESPN iScore Holiday Classic where it knocked off a talented Bishop O'Dowd team that featured both Brandon Ashley and Richard Longruss in the final. Anderson went for 19 points and 14 rebounds in the game and consequently earned his third straight MVP award.

Long Beach Poly's 12-0 start has it ranked sixth in the nation in the most recent Powerade Fab 50 ESPN Rise Boys Basketball Rankings and ESPN's West Coast recruiting expert Joel Francisco says Anderson's play has been a big reason for the team's success.
