Three newly-appointed head coaches received their first commitments on Monday and the big winner was not who you might expect.
Rutgers coach Mike Rice landed swingman Mike Poole (Springfield Gardens, N.Y./St. Benedict's), but lost out on forward Cleveland Melvin (Baltimore, Md./Notre Dame Prep), who committed to Oliver Purnell at DePaul.
"I'm excited to be playing in the Big East. I'm excited to play for a new coach and an up-and-coming program," Poole told the New York Post.
