If Christ the King High Middle Village, N.Y., reaches the State Federation Class AA Tournament later this month in Glens Falls, the Royals will do so sans Corey Edwards, the No. 40 ranked point guard in the junior class.

CTK coach Joe Arbitello confirmed that his 6-foot-1 floor general will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a left foot injury during drills Sunday. The freakish injury occurred when Edwards, a first team Catholic league selection, collided with teammate Omar Calhoun in practice. Edwards suffered a dislocated ankle, ligament and tendon damage and a fractured tibia.

"Corey landed on Omar's foot; he came down on it (his foot) the wrong way," Arbitello said. "You knew right away it wasn't good."
