Michael Gilchrist did not play Sunday afternoon but his St. Patrick (Elizabeth, N.J.) didn't need him. Gilchrist, the top-ranked junior in the nation according to Scouts Inc.,missed his second game with a sprained knee but the No. 1 Celtics cruised past Trenton (N.J.) Catholic, 78-52.

St. Patrick coach Kevin Boyle said his star junior's right knee is coming along just fine following a collision in a game on Jan. 5 against Union. An MRI revealed no structural damage and Boyle anticipates Gilchrist will be ready for Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.) on Jan. 18 at the Hoophall Classic in Springfield, Mass.

"He'll probably miss a couple more games but he's coming along," Boyle said.
