Barton ready to sign with Tigers

There might be a few anxious moments on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period, but Brewster Academy Coach Jason Smith, will tell four coaches not to fret. That's because the four high-major players from the Wolfeboro, N.H., prep school may not submit their binding letters-of-intent until Thursday.

Smith is reassuring the coaches all is well; no need to hit the panic button.

Brewster, the preseason favorite in New England Prep School Athletic Council A Division, the nation's elite post-graduate league, has a three-hour road trip to Maine Central Institute (Pittsfield, Maine) Wednesday afternoon, which may delay the paperwork. Traditionally the Brewster students have half-day sessions on Wednesday but with the tight itinerary, the Bobcats depart campus around noon and won't return until late evening.
