One of the top ten juniors on the West Coast and a probable ESPN 150 prospect made his selection to the Hoyas the day before Thanksgiving, giving John Thompson III a jumpstart on the class of 2009. Hollis Thompson, a 6-6 wing forward out of Los Angeles/Loyola, could be the missing piece to a national championship puzzle for the Hoyas in the 2009-10 season and beyond. Thompson is considered the number two wing (small forward) prospect in the West, ranked only behind 6-6 scoring machine Jordan Hamilton (Compton, Calif./ Dominguez). Hamilton's game is much more polished at this point (offensively that is) than Thompson, but Thompson's athleticism and lengthy frame suggest a significant upside.
