The Tide continues to roll for Alabama as they have picked up their third nationally-ranked recruit for the class of 2008 with a verbal commitment from 6-9 power forward JaMychal Green (Montgomery, Ala.). He attacks the glass relentlessly, controlling the boards in the same manner in which Ben Wallace does for the Chicago Bulls. Most of his scoring opportunities result from the tireless work he displays when crashing for offensive rebounds. Green brings an immense amount of intensity and competitive fire to the defensive end, blocking shots with ease and great timing. He has good leaping ability and a quick second jump. With more work on his perimeter game and post moves, Green could develop into a very good power forward from Alabama.

Green will join an already impressive stable of interior players that include All-SEC performer Richard Hendrix and Class of 2007 recruit Justin Knox. Bringing Green into the fold will provide Alabama with a physically imposing, deep, and dominant group of frontline players. Green will serve as the anchor for Alabama's defensive attack. His rebounding and shot-blocking ability will start many fast breaks for the up-tempo style of play that head coach Mark Gottfried utilizes, as well as provide a security blanket for guards beaten by penetration.
