No. 1 PG Jennings picks Arizona

In a somewhat surprising turn of events, Arizona came through the backdoor to nab the 2008 ESPN 150 No. 1-rated point guard prospect in 6-2 junior Brandon Jennings (Mouth of Wilson, Va./Oak Hill Academy). Originally, Jennings was a verbal commit to Tim Floyd's up-and-coming USC program, however, in recent months Jennings reopened his recruitment to seek out other opportunities for his college destination. Eventually it came down to Connecticut and Arizona with the Wildcats coming out on top.

Jennings will be added on to an already impressive collection of verbal commits in 6-7 junior Emmanuel Negedu (Wolfeboro, N.H./Brewster Academy) and 6-4 junior Brendan Lavender (Mesa, Ariz./Mountain View).
