Here at GK Central, where we track big upsets, Thursday was a fairly dreary day. The second round of the NCAA tournament opened in a cloud of chalk, as just one potential Giant Killer beat an overdog. At least that team was VCU, one of our Best Bets. And at least we steered you away from picking Montana.

Overall, teams we pegged as Best Bets went 1-1 Thursday and were outscored by an average margin of two points.

Teams we said were Worth a Long Look went 0-3 and were outscored by an average of eight points.

Teams we said were Not Completely Crazy to pick went 0-3 and were outscored by an average of 12.3 points.

And where we said Stay Away, teams went 0-3 and were outscored by an average of 19.3 points.

The surviving teams yield only one Giant-GK matchup Saturday, but it's a humdinger: the Virginia Commonwealth Rams versus the Indiana Hoosiers.

To see VCU's odds of pulling off the upset against Indiana, you must be an ESPN Insider.
