Tyler Bergantino commits to UMass

The University of Massachusetts added the second piece to its 2012 recruiting class on Friday afternoon when Tyler Bergantino (Springhill, Fla./Nature Coast) committed while on campus for his official visit.
"I stepped on campus and it was beautiful," Bergantino said, "but the main selling point was Coach [Derek] Kellogg and his staff. They're unbelievable, both with their coaching and personality."
The 6-foot-8 big man has seen his game improve at a rapid rate in the last year as he has rededicated himself both on the court and in the weight room.
"I weighed 278 pounds during my sophomore year and now I weigh 236," he said. "I was trying to lean out and gain a little more muscle. I'm already more versatile and athletic. I used to barely dunk and now I'm windmilling."
