The amazing thing about the pairing of Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal is not that they were able to average a combined 52.96 points per game together, but that they were able to do it for the last five years.

In the beginning of their championship run, it was Shaq averaging 29.7 points per game. Near the end of their dynasty, it was Kobe averaging 30 points per game. In between, each became the best player at his respective position, if not the best players in the NBA.

Year in and year out, they were the more prolific scoring 1-2 punch in the NBA -- until they almost came to blows themselves. But this is a new year, and there is no more pairing of Shaq and Kobe, or Kobe and Shaq, leaving an open void for the next dynamic duo to step up.
