Okafor hoping to buck recent trend
He could parlay his impeccable collegiate credentials and tall, dark, handsome good looks into professional success both on the court and across commercials on every third or fourth television set in America. He would block shots, rebound in bunches and resurrect a franchise fraught with repeated failure. He would be rich and famous and another No. 1 done good.
The only problem being that Okafor was picked No. 2 in Thursday night's draft and now must carry the burden and curse of that position.
What burden you say?
Is there really a curse?
