Florida Panthers: How the heck did Mike Keenan get another job, let alone with the club that most recently fired him? Well, it's all a tangled web involving backstabbing in the Florida Panthers front office. Nothing new.
New York Rangers: Once Keenan and new head coach Jacques Martin are officially introduced by Florida, that means the New York Rangers have been rejected yet again by a top-notch coach. The allure of the Blueshirts just keeps fading.
Detroit Red Wings: The fact that Detroit didn't make any active moves to hire Martin should mean that Red Wings head coach Dave Lewis and his staff should feel a little safer. Lewis and assistants Barry Smith and Joey Kocur are still without contracts, but indications are that owner Mike Illitch could bring them back by next week.
