New York Yankees: George Steinbrenner's deep pockets can sometimes make for strange bedfellows. The New York Post reports, Pedro Martinez, public enemy No.1 in the Bronx, could very well be sporting pinstripes next season. Martinez this weekend halted contract negotiations with the Red Sox and says that he'll test the market as a free agent following this season.

Detroit Tigers: Nate Cornejo is perplexed by his miserable start to the season. Cornejo's loss Sunday to the Seattle Mariners at Comerica Park dropped his record to 1-3 with no quality starts and an 8.42 ERA. Cornejo attributed his problems to a loss in confidence and concentration. He said he thinks about being sent to Triple-A Toledo. He wouldn't be surprised if Trammell made that move soon.
