Denver Broncos: Thursday, the jury in LB John Mobley's DUI case asked Judge Susanna Meissner-Cutler to extend deliberations into today after a number of unexpected witnesses extended the proceedings until nearly 10 p.m. The Denver Post reports Meissner-Cutler agreed to the request and the trial will continue today. Closing arguments by defense attorney Harvey Steinberg asked the jury to consider the entire body of evidence rather than the disputed evidence that Mobley's blood-alcohol level was tested to be three times the legal limit. "When you look at the evidence as a whole," Steinberg said, "many other questionable factors call the alcohol blood level into question."

Miami Dolphins: It's no secret that the offensive line is a weakness, and it's becoming clearer that the team plans to use their first-round pick on a lineman, specifically Arkansas RT Shawn Andrews. "[The Dolphins] expressed a lot of interest, especially offensive line coach [Tony Wise]," Andrews told the South Florida Sun-Sentinell. "He's a great guy, and he kind of let me know in an indirect manner that they're after me. We had a real good meeting, I'll say that. A real good meeting." Andrew's agent, Rich Moran, said he isn't sure his client will be there when the Dolphins pick [No. 20] but "if he is, then he wants to go [to the Dolphins]."

New York Jets: RB Lamont Jordan is the understudy to RB Curtis Martin, but he may not be in New York long enough to eventually take over for the aging star. The Newark Star-Ledger reports the Jets and the Oakland Raiders have had discussions about a draft-day trade involving Jordan. The negotiations have hit a wall because the Raiders contend the Jets' asking price is too high -- a second- or third-round pick, and possibly more. The Jets would like to deal Jordan because he is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in 2005. They dangled him last month as trade bait in a possible deal with the Washington Redskins for CB Champ Bailey.
