Montreal lineup off to anemic start

The Expos have managed to win four games while only scoring eight runs in those victories.

The Montreal Expos don't actually play in that place called Montreal for the first time in 2004 until tomorrow and, with a win this afternoon against the Mets, they could hit "home" running with a three-game winning streak. Up to this point, they have managed to win four games while only scoring eight runs in those victories. That's a pretty neat trick in this day and age. They've scored 16 runs in their 11 losses and one has to wonder if they are missing Vladimir Guerrero that much or there are other forces at play here.

One of the things working against Montreal's bats (and in their pitcher's favor -- more on that in a second) is that they haven't exactly been visiting lumberyards on their World Tour 2004. Here is their itinerary so far:

Pro Player Stadium, Miami: pitcher's park
Hiram Bithorn Stadium, San Juan: extreme pitcher's park
Citizen's Bank Park, Philadelphia: pitcher's park? It's a little too early to tell. In the seven games played there so far, teams have averaged 4.3 runs apiece. The average National League team scored 4.6 runs last year. The jury is still out.
Shea Stadium, Queens: pitcher's park (although it was nearly neutral last year)
