Anaheim Angels: In a game like baseball, playing for vengeance is a hard thing to pull off. Anger and resentment aren't the best thing to bring to the plate if you hope to wait on a good pitch to hit. Having said that, former Angel Brad Fullmer took it out on his old mates last night, clearing the loaded bases with a pinch double that gave the Rangers the insurance runs they needed in their 7-6 victory. Fullmer became expendable in the Anaheim scheme when they laid in Jose Guillen and Vladimir Guerrero and moved Tim Salmon to DH, Fullmer's spot. "It was one of those things where it became clear they didn't see me in their long-term plans. I wanted to go where I was wanted," he told Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times.

Detroit Tigers: Tom Gage of the Detroit News writes that everybody is lining up to praise the Tigers these days. After scoring five runs in each of their first six games for the first time in 43 years, people like Shannon Stewart of the Twins can't get over the transformation of last year's bottom dwellers. "&they are 10 times better (than they were last season)," Stewart told Gage. "We used to look forward to playing Detroit. We don't look forward to it anymore. Everyone in that lineup is tough."
