Eli Manning | QB | Ole Miss
There's a better than 50-percent chance the Chargers won't be selecting with this pick. From what we've been told most recently, the Chargers have fielded serious trade proposals from at least three teams looking to trade up for the No. 1 pick. The team that seems the closest to meeting the Chargers' requests is the Giants, in which case Manning would still be the first player taken overall. If the Chargers did flip-flop with the Giants down to No. 4, they would take the best available player among Miami of Ohio's Ben Roethlisberger, Iowa's Robert Gallery and Pittsburgh's Larry Fitzgerald. However, if the Chargers wind up selecting first overall, there would be too much pressure after the Ryan Leaf disaster for them not to draft Manning, widely considered the safest of the three elite quarterback prospects in this year's class.
