It helps that Richards spent the holiday with family for the first time in years and recharged his batteries for a 60-point flourish in the final 51 games.

Detroit Red Wings: Detroit rescued Robert Lang from the lowly Washington Capitals before the trading deadline. And now the Red Wings hope the slick center will pay them back by making a difference in the playoffs.

Philadelphia Flyers: John LeClair still makes too much money, but at least the $9 million forward rewarded the Flyers with a good season after the club failed to deal him last summer.
