Colorado Avalanche: As the least-heralded member of the Avalanche's big six forwards, winger Alex Tanguay's productive season could have been viewed as something of good luck to be included with the likes of Joe Sakic, Peter Forsberg, Paul Kariya and Teemu Selanne. But considering the way the team and Milan Hejduk in particular has slumped since Tanguay hurt his knee, Tanguay deserves more credit for being such a valuable player for Colorado.

Vancouver Canucks: Last year's choke job and this year's Todd Bertuzzi attack seem to be forgotten by the Vancouver Canucks as they have somehow climbed back atop the Northwest Division, based on a tiebreaker with the Avs, with two games remaining. "Nobody expected this, except the guys in this room," Canucks winger Matt Cooke told the Vancouver Province.

Tampa Bay Lightning: Just because the Lightning have lost an amazing NHL-low 35 man-games to injuries this season doesn't mean they aren't willing to stick their noses into trouble. Brad Lukowich's face is a prime example, taking a combined 61 stitches while missing just one game, because of the stomach flu, this season.
