New York Jets: For the fourth season in a row the Jets will have a new punter. The New York Post reports the Jets signed P Toby Gowin to replace the disappointing Dan Stryzinski. Stryzinski was at the bottom of the league statistically with a 37.4-yard gross and a 31.3-yard net with 22 punts inside the 20, and five touchbacks. By contrast, Gowin averaged 40 yards gross, 34.9 yards net, kicked 25 punts inside the 20-yard line and had eight touchbacks. Gowin can also handle kickoff duties, as he did while a member of the Dallas Cowboys last season.
Baltimore Ravens: Normally teams aren't willing to trade players to rivals within their division, but that's not the case with the Cleveland Browns. Coach Butch Davis said Wednesday that the Cleveland Browns are open to trading WR Dennis Northcutt to the Ravens, so long as they increase their compensation. "It could happen," Davis told the Baltimore Sun, "but not at what they're offering." The Ravens are offering a fifth-round pick and the Browns want
