Cleveland Browns: The team wanted more size on the interior of their offensive line, and they got it Monday. The Browns reached a contract agreement with free-agent G Kelvin Garmon. Garmon's agent Drew Pittman said the contract, which is for three years, won't be signed until details are ironed out Wednesday. "The Browns have been very persistent," Pittman told the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "The Lions were in the mix, too. We feel very comfortable with the Browns. It ended up being a good fit." Garmon, 6-2 and 350 pounds, started all 16 games at left guard for the San Diego Chargers.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: G Cosey Coleman was on the open market for three weeks, but he was unable to find a long-term deal or a team willing to promise him a starter's job so he signed a one-year deal to return to Tampa. His chances of landing a starter's role with the Bucs seem slim because newly signed OL Matt Stinchcomb is expected to fight OL Kerry Jenkins for the starting left guard spot, and OL Matt O'Dwyer will battle OL Jason Whittle for the starting right guard spot. However, the Tampa Tribune reports Coleman has been assured he will get a chance to compete for spot in the starting lineup.

Philadelphia Eagles: WR Freddie Mitchell has never been one to hide his emotions or opinions, and he certainly kept true to himself Monday when he said some rather interesting things regarding the team's acquisition of controversial WR Terrell Owens. "I was very surprised,'' Mitchell told the Philadelphia Daily News. "It's kind of weird...It's going to be interesting. [Owens] is not usually the guy Andy Reid would consider. But he got us to the [NFC] Championship Game 3 years in a row, so he knows something.'' But he was more surprised with QB Donovan McNabb's comments about desperately needing a receiver who wanted the ball at key moments. "You've got to be careful what you ask for,'' he said. "If Don felt that way, he's the leader of this team, and that's how he feels. I don't think coach Reid wants the kind of guy that won't implement in the system what he wants. If Don wants a guy yelling in his ear, 'Throw me the damn ball!' hey, OK, that's great. But I'll choose to stick to the Andy Reid way of doing things -- when it comes, take advantage of my opportunity.'' When asked if, in the past, he'd been told to avoid that type of behavior altogether he said, " Basically, yes. You've got to play within the offense. That's the biggest thing [that's emphasized], playing within the offense. If that wasn't the case, I'd have been asking for the ball a lot more ...But it's 'whatever.' I've been with Donovan -- 0-2, thick and thin. Anything Don said, it's just like what coach Reid says, I'm going to adapt to it and run with it.''
