Buffalo Bills: After cutting TE Dave Moore, Buffalo wants to add another tight end to complement starter Mark Campbell and is looking at Roland Williams, who missed most of the 2003 season after knee and toe surgeries. The Bills like his versatility, and Williams liked what he heard about the run-oriented scheme new coach Mike Mularkey is installing, as well as the idea of returning to his hometown team. "Does it get any better for me?" Williams told the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. "I don't know the Bills' salary cap situation or what they've allotted for another tight end, but I will say I've had a great time and I would love to be part of this organization. I'm going to come back and be a hard-nosed player for somebody in this league. I'm just praying that it can for my hometown Buffalo Bills."

NFL Draft: With the draft so deep at receiver, LSU's Michael Clayton needed to impress scouts with a good time in the 40-yards dash to ensure that he'd be a first-round pick. Clayton (6-foot-2, 206) was clocked at 4.6 seconds at the combine in February, but at LSU's Pro Day on Thursday he ran in the 4.5s. "That was basically the question today -- how fast could I run?" Clayton told the New Orleans Times Picayune. "I slipped a little bit on my start at the combine. But it really doesn't matter. At the end of the day it's who's the best football player. "I hear I can go as early as No. 9 (Jacksonville) and as late as No. 28 (Philadelphia). But I could fall into the second round, you never know. It's strictly a business, and you don't know what's going to happen. Basically I'm just hanging on the vine right now waiting to get picked."

Denver Broncos: After coming in for a visit Thursday, DE Raylee Johnson decided to stay. The Denver Post reports the 33-year-old Johnson signed a three-year, $3.3 million contract that includes a $1 million signing bonus. The team needs to come up with 11.5 sacks to replace the production provided by departed DE Bert Berry and is hoping Johsnon, who registered 31.5 sacks the past four seasons, can help. However, there are injury concerns regarding the 12-year veteran. Johnson visited a foot specialist Thursday to help assess the injury that forced him to miss the final seven games last season. He has been slow to heal. The specialist indicated Johnson might not be ready to play before training camp.
