Pedro Martinez
Martinez
Boston Red Sox: In the end, so much rides on this that it probably demands a headline and an article every week: How is Pedro feeling? It's no coincidence the Red Sox worst year since Pedro Martinez's arrival was the one in which he was able to start only 18 games -- 2001 (when rotator cuff hassles sidelined him).

The answer to that all-important question is, at this juncture, a very positive one. Bob Hohler of the Boston Globe reports that after yesterday's outing against the Orioles, Martinez was most enthusiastic, in spite of a pedestrian pitching line. "There's some extra strength on my arm. I felt like I could throw 98 miles per hour. ... It's a lot better than I expected. It's just perfect, the way it's going right now."
