New York Yankees: The early start to the Yankees 2004 seasons means that Bernie Williams will not be available for Opening Day. New York and Tampa Bay jump the gun on the season with an early trip to Japan. This means that Williams -- who had his appendix yoinked on February 26 -- will not be ready to go. It's a little disappointing," the centerfielder told Jim Baumbach of Newsday. "I would like to leave with the team but I think what's best for me is get my at-bats and get ready ... It might work out in my best interest to stay."
