New York Rangers: Eric Lindros' stint with the New York Rangers is likely over after the team announced the big center needs shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum.

Washington Capitals: Somehow, goalie Olaf Kolzig and defenseman Brendan Witt survived the purge of higher-paid Washington Capitals. Whether that's good or not, the two players were happy to stay in Washington.

Philadelphia Flyers: Flyers GM Bob Clarke tried getting a defenseman from a few teams but came up short before Tuesday's trading deadline. Now he and Philadelphia have to hope for quick recoveries from Eric Desjardins, Joni Pitkanen and Dennis Seidenberg.
