The NHL hasn't seen an attack as ugly as Vancouver winger Todd Bertuzzi's sucker punch and tackle of Colorado forward Steve Moore for some time.

Before the league holds a supplementary discipline hearing with Bertuzzi on Wednesday and decides exactly how long his indefinite suspension should be, many players, coaches, team officials and members of the media had plenty to say about the senseless act that left Moore with a concussion, broken neck and facial cuts. Here is a sampling of some of the comments:

Steve Moore was bloodied and knocked unconscious by a Todd Bertuzzi punch. A teammate of Bertuzzi called the act "sickening."
  • "At this stage, we're going to concentrate on showing support for this kid (Moore). I know this league understands the seriousness of this action, and I have full trust that they will do the appropriate action."
