Washington Capitals: Washington's delay in dealing defenseman Sergei Gonchar is apparently irritating the Maple Leafs, who have reportedly met Capitals GM George McPhee's demands. But according to the Washington Post, McPhee is seeing if he can squeeze more out of a deal and the Colorado Avalanche are now interested in Gonchar as well as goalie Olaf Kolzig.

New Jersey Devils: New Jersey was expected to jump back into the Gonchar sweepstakes after Brian Rafalski suffered what was first thought to be a broken leg Saturday. By Sunday the Devils said it was just a bruise behind his knee, but don't forget this is the same team that called Scott Stevens' concussion the flu.

Toronto Maple Leafs">Toronto Maple Leafs: Toronto might grow impatient with the Capitals and take its offer off the table. Just as well, Maple Leafs GM John Ferguson Jr. reportedly favors New York Rangers defenseman Brian Leetch anyway, according to The Toronto Globe and Mail.
