With free agency beginning March 3 and the draft just around the corner, Scouts, Inc., breaks down the biggest offseason needs for the Carolina Panthers.

Offensive guard: A potentially troubling situation is brewing along one of the league's best offensive lines. Right guard Kevin Donnalley has decided to retire and left guard Jeno James is an unrestricted free agent. As much as possible, the Panthers want to maintain continuity on the line, but if there is a weak link among the returning group, it is James. He also might price himself out of Carolina. Backup Bruce Nelson, a second-round draft pick last year, should be able to move into one opening, but the Panthers have a hole at the other spot. Reserve Tutan Reyes, an unrestricted free agent, might not be re-signed.
