Dolphins need leader under center

With free agency beginning March 3 and the draft just around the corner, Scouts, Inc., breaks down the biggest offseason needs for the Miami Dolphins.
Quarterback: Starter Jay Fiedler has been given every opportunity to take the Dolphins to the next level, but he hasn't delivered. Though he is a steady system quarterback, he has missed time because of injuries and never has come close to giving the team the sort of big plays it enjoyed during the Dan Marino era. Miami signed Brian Griese in hopes that he would provide strong depth and motivate or beat out Fiedler, but he mostly failed to take advantage of his opportunity. The Dolphins wouldn't mind cutting ties with both players, but the team can't afford the salary-cap hit. Both could be asked to restructure his contract, but only one is likely to return (bet on whichever of the two is more cap-friendly). Sage Rosenfels, the No. 3 quarterback, is just that and nothing more. A trade for A.J. Feeley would change things here, but expect the Dolphins to at least take a look at what is available in free agency and the draft.
