Packers need to plan for Favre's retirement

With free agency beginning March 3 and the draft just around the corner, Scouts, Inc., breaks down the biggest offseason needs for the Green Bay Packers.

Cornerback: Though the position might not appear to be a need for Green Bay at first glance, this isn't the kind of great matchup group a team would like to have in the NFC North -- especially with the team struggling to generate a pass rush with its front seven. Mike McKenzie and Al Harris are physical and are adequate starters, but neither is ideal. For instance, Harris has excellent ball skills but lacks deep speed. Quality receivers can isolate him in coverage and take advantage. Nickelback Bhawoh Jue makes some plays, but also gives up his share. Unrestricted free agent Michael Hawthorne has struggled with quickness and has problems maintaining contact with receivers.
