With free agency beginning March 3 and the draft just around the corner, Scouts, Inc., breaks down the biggest offseason needs for the Detroit Lions.

Running back: There are some fairly big names on the roster, but the production here has fallen well short of the promise. Last year Shawn Bryson (an unrestricted free agent this offseason) and Olandis Gary failed to live up to expectations. Veteran James Stewart missed the 2003 season because of a shoulder problem, and deciding whether or not to keep him if he chooses not to renegotiate his contract could be Detroit's biggest offseason decision at this position.
