Now that Alex Rodriguez is in the Yankee fold, talk has begun that this Yankee lineup could be the most devastating ever. Considering what has come before in this storied franchises history, that is going to be a tall order to fill.

Let's take a look at the five Yankee teams that finished with the best records, going in reverse chronological order:

Runs per game: 5.96
League runs per game: 5.01
% over league runs scored: 19%
Games over/under Pythagorean projection: plus 6
Weakest link: leftfield combo
