Chicago White Sox: Now he's going to have to come back from his comeback. Robert Person ruptured his Achilles tendon while working out and is done for the season. Hip and shoulder surgeries kept him on the shelf for most of the 2002 and 2003 seasons, but it was hoped by the Sox that he could fill the bill as their number five starter. "We were hoping and dreaming that through hard work, [Person] could return," their pitching coach Don Cooper told Bob Foltman of the Chicago Tribune. The fifth slot in the rotation is now wide open, says Cooper.

Minnesota Twins: How positively '70s! The Twins might have a problem with the company they selected to install their Astroplay turf surface in that they are in bankruptcy and might not be able to do the job. Haven't we as a species figured out how to grow grass indoors yet? It's been 40 years since the Astros figured out they needed a synthetic surface in the Astrodome. Have we made no progress in that area in all that time? Jay Weiner of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune has the story.
