Pittsburgh Steelers: Since K Jeff Reed missed more field goals than all but one kicker in the AFC last year and he underwent arthroscopic surgery on his hip in January, the Steelers though they needed some insurance. They got that Wednesday when they signed John Markham, Vanderbilt University's all-time leading scorer, signed a two-year contract according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The Steelers immediately allocated Markham to NFL Europe, where he'll play this spring.
