Miami Dolphins: Dan Marino really wants to be a part of the Dolphins front office -- honest. Amid reports that he's having second thoughts about becoming the new head of football operations in Miami, Marino did his best to ensure people that's not the case. ''It's not true,'' Marino said through Dolphins spokesman Harvey Greene. "I'm looking forward to starting my job with the Dolphins as soon as possible.'' Marino's agent, Marvin Demoff, said he didn't know about any misgivings his client might have. ''I saw Dan at the Super Bowl [this week], and he didn't say anything about not wanting to do the job,'' he told the Miami Herald. With his television obligations forcing him to miss a salary cap strategy meeting and now this, his tenure as the head football man is not off to a good start.
Atlanta Falcons: Apparently Philadelphia isn't the only place that WR Terrell Owens wants to play. He's targeted the Eagles as a possible team he'd like to become a part of in the offseason, and Sunday he mentioned the Falcons as a possibility because of his respect for friend QB Michael Vick. "I guess it would be something similar to a [Michael] Jordan and a [Scottie] Pippen," he told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, referring to the famed Chicago Bulls duo. "He'd be the Jordan, and I'd be the Pippen, however you want to put it." But the Flacons are only under the cap by a few million and after WR Peerless Price's $10 million signing bonus last year they have a lot of money tied up in the position already.
