Haven't we learned this by now? Don't bet against the Braves losing their division until they actually go out and lose their division. Mark Bradley of the Atlanta Journal Constitution isn't ready to write them off yet, but he does wonder this: with all their weapons gone, just how are they going to pull it off this time?

"Sweat shop" is not just a colorful phrase used to describe poor working conditions. In the case of those who make baseballs for major league contests in Costa Rica, it is an accurate description of their circumstances. Tim Weiner of the New York Times describes how baseballs are made and priced.

President George W. Bush has spoken out against steroids in sports on several recent occasions. Good idea? "Sure," says David Hyde of the Sun-Sentinel. Just a little too late, is all.
