Pudge shouldn't sell his soul

Pudge Rodriguez should not make the same mistake that A-Rod did, taking money over an opportunity to win.

  • If Pudge Rodriguez is looking for a precedent as to where he should sign, he need search no further than his Scott Boras stable mate Alex Rodriguez. Rick Morrissey of the Chicago Tribune suggests that he not make the same mistake that A-Rod did, taking money over an opportunity to play with a winner. In other words: avoid the Tigers.

  • The Kansas City Royals are on the rise, writes Tracy Ringolsby of the Rocky Mountain News. For one thing, players seem to want to go there again. For another, the Royals seem willing to take the steps to get the pieces they need to compete -- a big change from recent team doctrine.

  • "As a fan base, we continue to lead the league in awful." So says Dan Le Batard of the Miami Herald of the fans in his area. After beating the Yankees in the World Series (and getting to visit the White House today), the Marlins have still only sold less than 5,000 season tickets. What is to be done about this?
